Students will need to view the learning targets for this week in the class notebook. Students will complete the Artist Mash Up this week. Please upload a picture by Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday will be the last opportunity to turn in any incomplete assignments.
Students will need to view the weekly learning targets in the class notebook. Students will be working on their final drawing of their artist mash up project. Students will need to view their visual field and shape checklist to make sure that they are using all the concepts in their art work. Students need to take a good photo of their final work and post it in the notebook.
Students will need to view the weekly learning targets in the class notebook. Students will begin working on their final common assessment for VA Comp, which is the Artist Mash Up project. Students will need to view the PowerPoint presentation in the class notebook for examples. They will also need to view the rubric in the "important info" tab of the notebook. There is also a Visual Field and shape vocabulary sheet and checklist to view for the project. These concepts will need to be evident in your final artwork.
Students should research famous works to find one of interest to create a modern version of the work. Students should be brainstorming and sketching this week. Students will need to view the learning targets in the class notebook. Students will learn about the artist Ansel Adams. Students will create a landscape photo without man-made objects in the viewfinder. Students will use Pixlr.com photo editor to make changes to the contrast, brightness, etc. Students will have an original and 3 additional versions of the photo to post in the class notebook.

The Unsung Heroes composition is due by Friday. I will need a good photo to submit your work for the contest. Please upload to the pics tab of the notebook. I also need the written artist's statement uploaded. Please follow the instructions in the procedures and rubric for the assignments (content library). Our weekly class meetings will be Tuesdays at 11:30 on TEAMS. The info has been sent in an email (link). The meetings are private so I will not be posting info on the blog. This week will be a catch up week. Please make sure you have completed all of your assignments from March 16th-April 3rd.
Continue to develop your ideas for the Unsung Hero project. Have a safe and fun spring break!!! Don't worry about school until Monday April 13th!
Monday: Students will need to go to the class notebook. Click on the "Content Library" tab and scroll down to "Weekly Assignments". Students will view the "Learning Targets" for week 3/30-4/3. What is an unsung hero? Students will reflect on a time in life in which they made a personal decision and/or sacrifice through their actions that improved the life of someone else or an event in their lives when they were given an opportunity to better the life/lives of others and chose not to do so through their actions. They will share their answers to the questions above, with the class on the “collaboration space” labeled, “Unsung Hero Reflection”. Tuesday: Students will think about how they define the term “unsung”? What characteristics does a “hero” possess? Students will write their ideas in the “notes” tab of the class notebook. Wednesday: Students will learn about Irena Sendler by viewing the video, “The Irena Sendler Project Documentary: Life in a Jar,” which tells the story of a Catholic social worker who saved the lives of 2,500 Jewish children during the Holocaust and the U.S. View the video here: http://lowellmilkencenter.org/programs/projects/ view/life-in-a-jar/storytellers Students should take notes on the "Notes" tab of the class notebook (students should title it and add date completed). Thursday: Students will find their unsung hero at: http://lowellmilkencenter.org/competitions/ arteffect-project/rules/pre-approved-unsung-heroes Students will create a work of art about an already discovered Unsung Hero, which demonstrates thoughtful, self-directed and independent ideas that are personally relevant in exploring visually (literally or abstractly) how the Unsung Hero created Students should start creating a rough sketch of ideas for their artwork. Friday: Students should have found a hero and started creating a rough sketch of ideas for their artwork. Students will need to take a pic and post it to the homework page of the class notebook. Click on the "Homework" tab. Click the "+ Page" and name your page "rough Sketch for Unsung Hero project".
Monday students will finish their photo editing/merging for the yearbook. Tuesday-Wednesday students will use the VA Comp class notebook to learn about the Artist Andy Goldsworthy. Students will view the PowerPoint presentation and answer the questions provided. Students can "right click" and scroll down to "copy" the document. Students will need to go to the specified page in their notebook and "right click" and "paste" the document. "Click" the mouse or tap the screen where students will add answers. a text box will appear. Text answers and then move the box to fit the space. Thursday and Friday students will create their own Andy Goldsworthy inspired ephemeral sculpture using objects outside. Students will take pics of their sculptures and upload them to the specified page in the notebook.
